Lilypie Second Birthday tickers

We've got a little boy who is on the move. He's walking more and more everyday. Although, for some reason when we get around the rest of our family, he tends to freeze up :) I'm sure he will start running circles around us pretty soon :)

Blaine went back to work on Tuesday, so that gives Landon and I time to spend together T, W, and T. We are enjoying cuddling and watching Mickey Mouse.(at least I am)

I'm going to be sad when Christmas Break is over on Tuesday. But, it will be good for all of us to get back into a normal routine.

We've been incredibly blessed this Christmas season. I'm so thankful for all of our family and friends. This year has been a major roller coaster for our family. Thank you all so very much.

Where did my little boy go? He seems to be changing so much everyday! I can't believe that his first birthday is in 10 days. Holy cow!!

Finish up the final touches for his big birthday bash haha.

Hope you all had a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

Christmas 2010

My newest addiction:
I've been wanting to buy a nice camera for a long time. I don't see the point in spending all kinds of money on professional pictures of Landon, when I could do the same things at home.
So...we did it...there was a really good deal at Barry's Camera Shop so we decided now was the time to go for it. :o) I'm so glad we did!!
I'm having so much fun taking snapshots of Landon and all the Christmas activities of the past few days! We just went tonight and bought a few backdrops to get ready to take Landon's One Year pictures. We are now just looking for somewhere to buy a big 1 for the pictures. Any ideas?
Here are a couple of the shots I've gotten over the last few days.

Catching up..

Things have been pretty busy around here lately.

Blaine just finished up in the fields last week... It's so good to have him home now. Landon and I sure do miss him when he's not here.

We are in the starting stages of planning a 1st Birthday Party for our little man. I can't believe it's coming up so quickly. I wish I could just freeze time.

We've pretty much got the house decorated for the holidays. Landon just sits and stares at the tree. I think he's wanting to get in it but he knows he's not supposed to. We'll see what he does when we start bringing presents out and placing them underneath it. :)

That's all for now. Sorry I've been so relaxed on posting lately. We are in great need of a wireless router.. I just never get the chance to come out to the desk and get on the computer..

More later...

Happy Adoption Day!!

Happy Birthday Blaine!!!
I'm really tired from all of the days activities..so I'm going to just post a couple pictures.... just because I can now!! :o)

Just had the best moment of the day ....putting Landon to bed...Blaine sitting in the recliner rocking him to sleep...he calls me in...and we just sit there just the three of us. For the first time all day, we are a family. Just the three of us. It was amazing. Love them both with all my heart.

and..I just shed my last tear for the day ....God is SO good.

The moment we've all been waiting for...

Drum roll please....

The date has been set for the adoption finalization!!! We are so excited. It's going to be on October 6 at 8:30!! We are so excited.

Not only is this going to be Landon's "A Day" but it's also Blaine's 27th Birthday. What better gift could Blaine possibly get than to pass his name on to his son! We are thrilled beyond measure.

We feel so blessed to be the ones that God chose to be Landon's parents.

Also, be on the lookout for a TON of pictures to come after 10-06-10. I can't wait to show you all our adorable son!

On the road again...

Tomorrow, we will make the drive up to Lake County once again. It's funny because today, over my lunch break, I was thinking about the last court date. I remember the case worker saying that we wouldn't have to worry about the September court date because everything would be finalized by then. Yea...that's not the case. The longer it takes, the more and more frustrated we become. Not only because we want to get things finalized and move on with our lives...but because we were told when we brought Landon home that it would be a short process and we should be finalized by the beginning of summer. It's just frustrating...

So very frustrating.

And I know there's nothing we can do about it, but it still bothers me. I don't like not having control. I wouldn't change this whole experience for the world, though. Landon is worth every headache, heartache, and frustration. He can always put a smile on our face. He always puts me in a good mood. My day always seems to get better when I want into daycare and he sees me. His face lights up, as does mine. I can't remember life before him. And I can't imagine life without him. He's amazing.

I feel truly blessed that God chose us to be his parents. I also pray regularly for his bio-mom for the very unselfish decision that she had to make almost 8 months ago. I pray that she knows he's being taken care of...and by her making that decision to leave...she made our dreams come true. There aren't words to express the gift she has given me.

I love that little boy with all my heart.

Oh, and by the way, a huge thank you to my boys for breaking into my blogger account. You put a huge smile on this girls face. Love you both so very much. I feel so blessed to be loved so much by Blaine and Landon.

A Quick Update..

We went on our first family vacation with Landon. My parents rented a cabin in the Smokey Mountains. All of us got to go to Gatlinburg for a few days. It was just what we needed :o) Landon enjoyed getting to spend time with Grampy, Grammy, Aunt Meg, and Uncle Matt. Blaine and I were talking about how our vacations are sooooo different now than just a year ago. But change is good. Better yet, change is GREAT!!

The adoption still isn't finalized. ugh...don't even get me started. It makes me an emotional basket-case.

I'm waiting for Landon to go down for his nap so I can go shower. I'm going shopping with Mom and Meg today. Grampy gets to spend some QT with LJ.

We are headed to Ohio tomorrow afternoon to see Grandma. We had originally planned to stop by Columbus on our way and have dinner with our friend Chris. Unfortunately, because of the adoption taking so long..we have to go get fingerprinted again. And the only available time to do it is tomorrow. So we have to do it. Soooooo sorry Chris. We'll come see you and Whit VERY SOON...hopefully.

Landon is on the move. He's doing "the worm" as Courtney named it! I've had to get after him a couple times for trying to push buttons on the vcr/dvd/cable box/wii and for trying to pull dvds off the rack. But other than that, he's doing pretty well staying out of everything. We'll see how long that lasts...probably not long. We can't believe how big he's getting. It's crazy.
We just got his 6 months pictures taken. We had ordered him a WPVFD shirt and wanted it for his pictures. I'm so glad we waited on it because the pictures turned out great. I'm so glad we have those pics with Blaine's fire helmet/jacket. Such neat memories. :o)

Better go check on Landon.

New Convertible Car Seat!

So this is the seat we decided on. It's the Evenflo Triumph Advance LX. It's rated #1 car seat by a leading consumer magazine. We are going to hopefully install it sometime this weekend!

Newlyweds, New Pool, and New Car Seat.

It's been a very busy week for us.

I want to start by saying CONGRATULATIONS to Meg and Matt! The wedding was beautiful. I was really excited to get a couple calls from them while they are on their honeymoon in CABO!
After spending several days together, I was really starting to miss my sister. It's funny how much I want to just pick up the phone and call her, but really can't. :( They will be home on Sunday! I can't wait to see them :o) Love you both so much. Welcome to the family Matt!

We put up Landon's pool (with the help of my Dad!) that Uncle Scott, Aunt Tianne, and Makenna got him. He LOVES it! :o) He is sitting up all by himself and splashing and giggling. It's adorable. There's not much that he does that isn't adorable to me. :o)

I can just sit and stare at him for days. I can't believe how much he's changing everyday.

During bath time last night, Blaine and I were talking about the first bath we gave him at home. Looking down at him you can see how much he's grown. We even took out the newborn "ledge" that is in his little tub.

With Landon getting bigger everyday, he's also getting to be quite the little chunk. At least I think so! It's becoming nearly impossible for me to carry him in his infant seat. We are searching for a convertible seat now for my car. Until we finally decide on one, I'm leaving his infant seat in the car and I'm just going to have to carry him out and put him in it :o)

I'm loving staying at home with Landon this summer. He's getting so close to crawling. He's rocking and even scooting a little. I thought maybe he needed a demonstration of what it actually looked like to crawl...so that's what I did. I'm really glad nobody else was here when I did it! Landon thought it was quite the site. He couldn't stop laughing. Love him to pieces.

We are really looking forward to the family trip to Gatlinburg in a few weeks. But before that, we have a party at Gma and Gpa's for the 4th! And, hopefully we will get to finalized the adoption before we leave for TN. We'll see.

Happy 5 Months Baby Boy!

Happy 5 Months Landon! I can't believe it's been 5 months already.

You are already rolling all over the place, eating cereal and baby food, talking up a storm, and making our lives unbelievable since you came home! We have made so many memories so far and we love watching you continue to change and grow everyday. We love you so much.

We go to court on Thursday for the TPR. After this court date, I will feel a sigh of relief. When we are done, we are taking the paperwork and going straight to our attorney!!!

Summer Vacation Begins.....FINALLY!

I got to come home early yesterday because I had some comp time left over from the year. I came home to Mom and LJ sitting in the chair playing. :o) We decided to get him cleaned up and we were going to head into town to do a little shopping...

First, though, we decided to try some baby food! He's 4 months and 3 weeks and already eating baby food! Crazy. We tried Carrots and Bananas. He really liked them a lot. :o) I think he's going to be a good eater. Runs in the family I guess ;)

Looking forward to all the adventures of the summer with our little boy.

Heading home this weekend for some family time, Ry's open house, and a cookout on Monday!

But first, we are having lunch with our great friends before they move to Ohio. We'll miss you guys so much. Love you Chris and Whit!

4 Months

Just a quick update before I head to bed.

We took Landon for his 4 month check-up.

14 lbs 15 1/2 oz
24 3/4 inches long

The DR said we can start feeding him yellow veggies and mild fruits.

Our little boy was in quite a bit of pain right before bedtime. It breaks my heart. We fed him his cereal and formula, gave him some meds, and Nana rocked him to sleep!

Hopefully he gets a good nights sleep and will be back to my normal little boy in the morning!

Hope everyone has a great evening!

Is it summer vacation yet?

We have four and a half weeks left of school, and they seem to really be dragging on. Ugh... Hopefully the next couple weeks go fast because they are jam packed.

Blaine's still in the fields ( well not right now because we've had much needed rain lately) But, he's still not finished. Which works out great for LJ and I because we get to spend time with Daddy.

We've got a visit from the case worker on Friday, Mom's birthday is also Friday, dinner for her bday on Saturday, Mother's Day on Sunday...and so on....

Next week Landon goes to the doctor for his 4 month checkup. I'm excited to get his "stats" and see how she thinks he's growing. I'll update after that visit.

We have a court date on the 19th. Blaine and I were just talking today about how we can't wait for Landon to "officially" be ours. We can't wait until we don't have to worry about court dates, case worker visits, background checks, etc. We are ready to just be a family. Not that we aren't already a family. But we are ready for the Ts to be crossed and the Is to be dotted.

That's all for now, Blaine is out mowing and weed-eating to get ready for Friday. I'm typing. And Landon is taking a nap in his bouncy seat right next to me. It doesn't get much better than this.

Love,
The Yaggies

Teething?

We had a great time at the Vera Bradley sale on Friday. Mom and I came away with lots of deals while Dad got to spend time with Landon. A great time was had by all. { And I didn't even spend a ton of money like every other year}

It was fun to get away from work but I was glad to get home to my amazing husband. I really missed him this trip. Even though it was only a little over 24 hours that we were away, it felt like much longer. I love seeing Blaine and Landon together. I love the way they talk to each other. Landon is changing so much everyday and I know Blaine hates missing it when he's in the field. It's been nice to have him home with us for the past few days. { :0) }

A couple days ago, Landon started getting a runny nose. Followed by a cough...great...

So last night we noticed he just wasn't feeling like himself. So we gave him some Tylenol and had a lot of cuddle time. Everyone has been telling us that a lot of babies get their first colds when they are starting to teethe. What do you guys think? He seemed to be feeling better towards the evening. He's at such a fun age right now. He's rolling all over the place. He's talking and giggling all the time. He loves his "blanket buddies." Especially "Raffie" :o)

{sigh}

I love being a Mom.

Summer break can't come soon enough. I'm so looking forward to spending time with Landon. Going to see the grandparents, going to see Aunt Megan and Aunt Courtney. We want to take him to the zoo. Even though he will probably be too small, we want to go anyway haha. We want to have cookouts and campfires(after LJ goes to bed) We are just really looking forward to the summer.

Meg's wedding and a trip to Gatlinburg. Lots to look forward to in the coming months.

Four more weeks left of school...then we have some freedom! :o)

Busy weekend..

First of all I want to start this post by saying Happy Birthday to two of my favorite people...

Happy Birthday to my BFF Court! Love and miss you so much.

and..

Happy Birthday AWood! Hope you get your win tonight!!

I can't believe that Landon is already 3.5 months old. It's crazy. Our next court date is May 19th. Then we have one June 10th. Then hopefully soon after the adoption will be finalized! Keep your fingers crossed :o)

This week has been full of checking off things on my "to-do" lists, most of which have to do with Megan's Bridal Shower.

Hopefully tomorrow will go fast and we can come home and pack up the car. Then we are off to Francesville until sometime Saturday afternoon/evening. Grandma Henderson and Aunt Greta are coming from Ohio! They are going to come down here after the shower to see our houses. They are going to make their way to Meg's house then come over to ours and then we are all going to go to dinner somewhere. It should be a fun day!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

*I'm secretly hoping we get the rain we are supposed to get so Blaine can go with me this weekend!

More later..

It's been a few weeks since my last post. I thought since we brought Landon home I would be blogging more, but I've been really busy lately. It also makes it hard for me to blog because I want to post pictures so badly. Only a couple more months....Then we can show off our precious little boy to the world.

Friday, the case worker from LC came to visit Landon at the babysitters. She has to make monthly visits to see him. They usually only last 15-30 minutes. No biggie. (if you would have asked me about those visits a month ago, it would have been a huge deal to me...not so much now)

I'm starting to let the little things go in my life and start concentrating on the important things. It makes me a much happier person.

As I sit here and write this post, I keep looking over to LJ. He's sleeping peacefully in his bouncy chair. Not a care in the world. I can't believe how big he's getting. My little boy isn't little anymore. He just had his 3 month birthday on the same day as Aunt Megan's birthday. So we took some special pictures of the two of them.

Anyway, we hope everyone had a great Easter. It's so exciting to share all those 1st moments as a family. LJ is getting really close to rolling over. I don't know if I'm really ready for the to happen yet. We'll see.

Have a great week!

Blessed...

Landon is doing really well. He sleeps thru the night for the most part. Usually every 5th night he wakes up in the middle of the night. Other than that, he has been sleeping 7-9 hrs every night. My friend, Brenda, let us borrow her swaddler that she used for her daughter. Ever since then he's been sleeping really well. We were actually going out to buy our own and she called and said not to because she had just got one for us. We feel very blessed to have such great friends.

My great coworkers and bosses threw me a baby shower at work last week. I feel very blessed to work with such supportive people. This weekend is my other baby shower. I'm really excited because several people will get to meet Landon for the first time. It's always exciting to see what people say when they see him for the first time.

I'm sure I'll post pictures sometime next week while I'm on Spring Break.

Hope you are all having a good week. 2 more days then I get to spend the whole week with my little boy!!! Sooooo excited!

We're getting closer...

Well, the past few weeks have been amazing. I never thought I'd ever get the chance to experience motherhood. And now that I have, it's amazing! I love Landon more than I ever thought I could. He makes everything better. His little smile and his coos brighten my day. I can't wait to be able to post pictures so you all can see our adorable son.

The case worker came yesterday to check on everything and talk about what the next steps are. We've done everything that we need to do, we are just waiting on the big shots to do all the paperwork. She says, "it should only take a couple more weeks...maybe up to a month" We'll see how accurate she is this time, considering she said everything would be finalized by the beginning of March. We'll see.

All I know, is that we are enjoying every minute of being Landon Joseph Yaggie's parents!

We love him more than anything and he definitely makes our family complete!

It's all happening!!!!

Just wanted to post a quick note saying that I'm waiting on the Case Worker to get here to do a quick home study!

As soon as Blaine is off work and home we are heading north to bring our new son home!!!!

Happy Birthday Grandma

Just finished having a great dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. Getting ready to head to Dads game at WC. Hopefully it doesn't snow like it says it will. :o)

We haven't heard anything back from the case worker yet. I will update when I do. Keep praying!

More later...

It's been awhile...

Lots has been going on in our lives over the last few months, but I'm not going to really go into everything on here because most of you that read my blog have heard about everything.

Anyway, we have been keeping busy with lots of things. Blaine's been getting our wood pile stocked up for next winter as well as keeping busy at work and the fire station. I've been busy with work and helping Meg plan her wedding. I'm really excited for her and I know she's going to make a beautiful bride!!

We recently got an email from our Case Worker. She told us that there was an infant boy available for adoption in a county up north. She wanted to know if we wanted her to send our home study up to that DCS office. After Blaine and I talked, we obviously said "yes"!! So we will see what happens. We don't want to get our hopes up because there are probably thousands of people that are wanting to adopt. So I guess we will just continue to pray about it and if it's meant to be, it will be. So we'd also appreciate it if you could keep us in your prayers as well! We have no idea what will happen. Possibly nothing.

But at least it's one step in the right direction...
